British champion freediver Sara Campbell joined a team of 22 scuba divers on a Red Sea liveaboard to help clean up Egypt's reefs.
The week was part of a month of subsidised clean-up safaris that tour operator blue o two has been running throughout 2009 to support the HEPCA's (Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association) Hayah campaign.
Hayah (meaning life in Arabic) is a broad initiative aimed at educating the tourists and people working within the diving industry to protect the marine environment while supporting sustainable income for the local communities.
'I've always had a close connection with the environment, and am delighted that I can use my diving to reach a wider audience to help protect not only the Red Sea, but all water environments,' said Campbell. 'I was on the fourth Hayah/blue o two clean-up week and we brought up around 30kg of rubbish, mainly glass, cans, plastic wrapper and fishing lines. The amount of waste that ends up in the sea is shocking - it not only looks horrible, but it destroys the reefs and particularly in the case of fishing lines and nets, can create the most awful devastation to the wildlife.'
Guests on board the liveaboard the following week, picked up more than 100kg of rubbish including used oil and diesel filters, according to blue o two.
HEPCA project manager Natalie Tyler said: 'Simply by seeing that divers are prepared to spend time and money on holiday to clean up the reefs makes a big impact on the boat crew and encourages them to adopt more environmentally friendly ways of living at sea, from waste disposal to cleaning materials they use. We can't pinpoint the waste problem at one group - everyone is responsible for looking after the future of the sea.'

If you opened our site with any browser that does not have a Google toolbar installed you will see it opens just fine. The option to be warned about potential attack sites is a security setting in your browser. Simply tick it off if you want to remove it.
There is a growing list of unhappy website owners who have been affected by Google’s “governance” of sites. Last week even Gmail went offline for a few hours. Google has also had a security bug which shared your Google docs without permission!
SpotRedSea.com has requested that Google rescan the site, and we are confident that the warnings will be removed imminently.

Travco showcases its upcoming projects at ITB 2009 |

As customary of Travco which has been providing a very strong presence in the travel and hospitality market for three decades, and in anticipation of the biggest annual convention, Travco Group unveils recent and forthcoming developments it plans to showcase during this year's ITB.
In the popular Red Sea resort of Hurghada, Travco Group unveiled plans for the new Iberotel Aquamarine Resort, a vast 5-star hotel comprising 1001 rooms and suites due to open at the end of 2009. Further down the Safaga road and close to the existing development of Madinat Coraya, the Sol Y Mar Moreen Resort & Spa is nearing completion and will open its doors this spring. The 4-star hotel consists of 208 superior and family rooms.
All eyes on the north coast, and nonetheless Travco's with further ventures spreading out in Almaza Bay starting with Jaz Crystal Resort, the second 5-star resort to open in Almaza Bay development this summer adding 262 rooms and suites. Secondly there is the Jaz Oriental Resort which is a third 5-star resort to open this summer in Almaza Bay adding 212 deluxe guestrooms and suites for a total capacity of 860 guest rooms.
The Sinai Peninsula continues to be the budding spot for the Egyptian tourism and consequently most of the developments are focusing on this area. With Jaz Royal Taba making its debut this summer, this hotel is the group's second in Taba being in the 5-star category with 306 rooms.
Sol Y Mar Sharks Bay is yet another addition in Sharm El Sheikh, and consists of 138 rooms and suites. This 4 star hotel is due to open its doors to its guests by July 2009. That is not all; Sol Y Mar Naama Hills is yet another addition to its sizeable presence in the city of peace. Ideally situated in the heart Sharm El Sheikh, the 4-star hotel comprises of pleasantly furnished rooms and suites, and is due to open in the summer of 2009.

Ras Ghazlani - Ras Mohammed National Park
With no mooring and a generally strong current, Ras Ghazlani is done as a drift dive, which is the perfect way to appreciate the tranquillity of this dive site.
The preservation of its delicate beauty is thanks to site having been closed off to divers for many years.
One of the treasures of Sharm El Sheikh, it is by far one of the healthiest and most diverse coral sites in the Sinai region.
Located at the mouth of Marsa Bareika, this site consists of a steep slope covered by coral heads. Dropping down to 15 metres, the reef wall descends gradually as you go deeper with abundant fish life all across the reef. Pufferfish, eagle rays, groupers and napoleonfish dot the reef, and keep your eyes on the blue for some pelagic action.
Whatever marine life exists in the Red Sea, you can be sure to find it scuba diving here in the Sinai Peninsula.

1- Free Yoga Instructional Videos - Buying a ton of Yoga DVDs is not necessary. A simple search on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/results?sear...) and other similar video web sites returns thousands of free instructional Yoga videos. Many of them are entire Yoga workout sessions. Select entire play lists and those videos with the highest ratings and most views. You can also check with your library for Yoga instructional videos. Remember to listen to your own body first over the advice of any instructor or video.
2- Pick a Good Yoga Mat - Make sure your Yoga mat isn't slippery. It should be comfortable and maintain a good temperature. It should also be flexible enough to work for both sitting and Yoga poses where you will be lying down. Use anti-slip inserts or an anti-slip material for your Yoga mat. Experiment with different combinations and get recommendations from your friends and Yoga instructors.
3- Pick the Right Yoga Poses - Beginners should start with more basic Yoga poses. Even those experienced in Yoga should first warm up with simple Yoga poses and slowly move to more advanced ones during the course of the workout. Become comfortable and confident with those Yoga poses. As the flexibility of your body increases you can then advance. Then learn specific poses that fit with your body or strengthen desired areas.
