Underwater expert Martin Edge selects his best spots for snapping the wonders of the deep
St John's Caves, Marsa Alam, South Red Sea
Red Sea diving has a world-class reputation and fortunately for UK divers it is the most convenient with regular flights into Sharm, Hurghada and Marsa Alam. My favourite photo site is St John's caves, which can only be accessed via a liveaboard dive boat and consist of a honeycomb of shallow (8m) cave systems in the reef. A couple of the caves are enclosed overhead, but you are never far from a visible blue water exit. The best is Dangerous Reef: you feel as though you're in a cathedral because of how the sunbeams and shadows constantly dance across the white sandy floor

| Low Prices Attracting Investors to Egypt! |

While much of the rest of the world is suffering from high real estate prices and a credit crunch, Egypt is benefitting due to its low property prices. Many UK residents are seeing their money go further in this Middle East country due to the combination of low prices and a good exchange rate. In addition to buyers, developers are noting the interest in Egypt and working to bring more property online quickly. While there are some new Red Sea resorts that are sprouting up, even traditional resorts and cities are seeing a boom.
Tahir Ali, managing director of property company Egypt Revealed, was quoted as saying that because property prices in the country are only a fraction of those in the UK, investors often do not need to take out a loan to buy a property. As a result, property can be bought straight up, and the process is much simpler.
In addition to the low costs, Egypt has become a hot tourist destination. “We are very much in a period of rapid growth for the Egyptian market. This is being fuelled by massive increases in tourist numbers helped by the arrival of more low cost flights,' he said. According to Cheapflights.co.uk, interest in flights to Sharm Al Sheikh is up 50% over a year ago.
In addition to Sharm Al Sheikh, new resorts at Gamsha Bay and Sahl Hasheesh are under construction or planned. Hurghada is another resort town that is popular and growing along the Red Sea, and it has an international airport for direct flights from the UK. Cairo and Alexandria are also seeing increased development, partly as a result of the favorable travel and monetary conditions. With low prices and a good exchange rate, Egypt looks set to continue its building and investment growth.

You ask yourself why your child should join a snorkeling course. You think he/she knows already how to snorkel, but snorkeling can be much more than only putting on mask and fins and then jump into the water…
The course provides all basic elements of
safe and fun snorkeling:
• Safe snorkeling equipment and its use
•Theoretical background about the pressure under water
• Safe way to enter the water with all snorkeling equipment
• Basic snorkel techniques how to dive down
• Different techniques how to use the fins
• Feeling of weightlessness under water
• Swimming rules & self rescue elements
• Mechanics of water movements like tides, currents and surf
• Underwater photography
• Important knowledge about marine plants/animals of the Red Sea
• Environmental friendly behavior respecting the underwater world
• Snorkeling certification (extra charge)
Snorkeling can be a very exciting activity knowing the proper snorkeling skills to explore the beauty of the underwater world. The children will finish the course with our snorkeling certificate – FREDS ‘Snorkeling Frog’. The first time your child can achieve this approval by Freds Swim Academy Egypt.
The course will be held for different age groups of swimmers consisting of 9 sessions in total, starting at the Hurghada Marriott Health Club Pool Tuesday July 1st, ending Thursday July17th Training days are July 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 8th,9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, and 17th (always Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 5pm).
Total fee for the course is 200,-LE (Snorkeling equipment will be provided by Freds Swim Academy in case you don’t have your own)
If your child is already booked for Frogs Swimming Club you can add the snorkeling course to the usual program by paying 100,-LE in addition.
Frogs Swimming Club (for swimmers only) will train during July and August every Wednesday and Sunday at 5pm. We run also all Swimming Courses (Water Babies, Aqua Tots, Splashing Rascals and Active Adults) during summer vacation.

Can’t be bothered to leg it to the gym?
Try some of these stay-in-bed exercises and tone up without even getting up
Full-body stretch:
How? Lie on your back, legs straight, arms above your head and palms together, then stretch out with pointed toes and fingers. Repeat with back of your hands together.
Why? This is your wake-up warm-up to get your muscles going.
Bed bum toner:
How? Lie flat on your back, tighten your abs and pull one knee up to your chest. Hold for ten seconds, then repeat with the other leg.
Why? Tones the muscles in the front of your thigh, and stretches and tightens the bum.
Thigh Curler:
How? Lie face down on the bed, holding a pillow between your feet. Bend your knees, bringing the pillow slowly towards your bottom & return. Repeat six times.
Why? Tones the backs of your thighs and bum.
Pillow Plank:
How? Lying flat on your front, raise yourself up onto your elbows, keeping your abs tight, and hold for ten seconds. Rest and repeat twice more.
Why? Strengthens your core muscles and helps give you abs of steel.
Bed Dipper:
How? Sit on the edge of your bed with hands, palms downs, either side of your hips. Slide forwards, lift your hips off the bed and dip downwards. Straighten your arms to return, and repeat four times.
Why? It is great for toning the back of the upper arms and banishing bingo wings.
