Sharm El-Chic

Dive all day, dine in the desert, dance all night — Sharm El Sheikh has got what you want, when you want it
Sharm el chic

Barefoot all day and drunk all night. Countless people could, and generally do, describe their seaside vacation in Sharm El-Sheikh this way. Although drunken debauchery seems to take center stage at this haven for coastal crowds, the best thing about Sharm is the fact that you can find almost anything that suits your mood at any time of the day or night.

Sharm El-Sheikh’s rapid ascent into the top tier of coastal holiday destinations has brought with it some brilliant additions, but also the less appealing trappings of any tourist boomtown. On the plus side, the city is now by far the best place to party within 1,000 kilometers of Cairo.

Throngs of wealthy tourists have also lifted the standards of the local hospitality scene. When it comes to hotels, restaurants, recreation and service standards, Sharm El-Sheikh is now truly world class — something that cannot be said of any other Egyptian tourist town. Sharm is now more Las Vegas than Goa: Those seeking a mellow Sinai vacation have migrated north in search of what once was in places like Dahab and Ras Abu Ghalum. Not to worry though, the great thing about Sharm is you can find anything to suit your fancy and budget.

Hayah - The red sea community project
Environmental News
Hayah Project
The Hayah project

Hayah, meaning ‘Life’ in Arabic, is HEPCA’s most ambitious environmental project yet. The project was launched on Earth Day, April 22nd 2008; the largest annual environmental event that is celebrated simultaneously around the globe by more than half a billion people.

The aim of Hayah is to involve all sections of the Red Sea community working towards the following objectives:

1. Raising awareness

Raising environmental awareness of multiple stakeholders in our Red Sea community (e.g. diving and water sport operators, hotels, schools, tourists, tour operators / travel agents and local communities / organisations).

2. Education and responsibility

Educating all stakeholders in the importance of individual and collective responsibility for our environment and providing ideas, methods and support for each and every one of us to make a difference.

3. Active participation

Encouraging all stakeholders in environmental citizenship and assisting them in positive actions to help ensure the overall sustainability of our Red Sea environment (on land and water).

Hayah was launched on Earth Day with a series of educational and clean-up events. The project is not a one-off, one-day event however. A full program of environmental actions, ongoing projects, awareness materials and resources will be rolled out over the coming months. More information on this exciting community project will be released soon including a complete micro site dedicated to Hayah.

Shawky out for the season

Sport News

Middlesbrough's Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Shawky will play no further part this season after sustaining a back injury, the player's agent said on Thursday.

"Shawky hurt his back in today's morning training session. He was taken to hospital to undergo scans and find out the extent of the injury," Nader Shawky told

"He will not play again this season definitely. I hope it won't be a serious injury because Egypt's World Cup qualifying campaign is looming."

Boro, who are yet to guarantee their top-flight safety, have two matches remaining in the Premiership. They will face Portsmouth and Manchester City.

Egypt begin their 2010 World Cup qualifiers against DR Congo at Cairo Stadium on the first of June.
Shawky's compatriot Mido also sustained a serious injury last month and was ruled out of action until the season's end.

King for a day

Your father can be a king for the day with this easy, fun project.

Parents & kids
King Crown

King Crown

What you will need:

* Cardboard or two pieces of 8 ½" x 11" heavy cardstock
* Aluminum foil
* White craft glue
* Construction paper in various colors
* Glitter glue
* Scissors
* Newspaper
* Foam sticker letters

How to make it:

1. Cut a strip the length of the newspaper about one inch wide. Use this to measure the circumference (distance around) your dad's head. (If you want the crown to be a surprise, take the newspaper strip and place it around the inside of one of dad's hats. Keep one end still with your thumb and cover the band part inside all the way around.) Tear off any excess newspaper. This is how long your crown will need to be to fit your dad.

2. Line up cardboard pieces or cardstock on the table and use your newspaper strip to determine how much you need. If necessary, tape cardboard or cardstock together or trim off excess.

3. From the original newspaper, cut another strip the length of the newspaper, this time about 5 inches wide. You should now have a long rectangle. Starting at one end of the rectangle, fold it in half, then fold in half again, then again, until you have a piece approximately 2 inches wide. At the top of the short end, cut a "V" shape from one corner to the other. When you open the newspaper strip you will have a crown pattern.

4. Trace your crown pattern onto the cardboard or cardstock and cut out.

5. Carefully cover the crown with aluminum foil.

6. Cut shapes from construction paper for jewels and glue them to your crown. Use glitter glue to decorate the edge of the crown points.

7. Use foam alphabet stickers to spell out "King Dad" and glue them to the front of the crown.

8. Once the glitter glue has dried completely, get a grown-up to help you staple the crown together. Cover the pointy sides of the staples with tape so that they don't pull your dad's hair, or staple so that the pointy sides are on the outside of the crown.

Foot bath

Foot Bath

The way your feet look gives the observer an idea of the way in which you take care of yourself. Everyone wants to have beautiful and healthy feet. To have beautiful skin you have to take care of the skin on your feet. You have to regularly take care of your feet.

You will have to soak your feet to soften the tough dead skin, then you will have to scrub off the dead skin from your feet and them moisturize your feet with a nourishing cream to keep it soft and smooth. You should exercise your feet and use comfortable shoes that allow your feet to relax and breathe easily.

Given below is a soak for your feet and will make your skin smooth and beautiful.

* 1 cup lemon juice
* Cinnamon for smell
* 2 tablespoons of olive oil
* ¼ cup of milk
* Water (amount does not matter)

Mix all the ingredients in a tub and soak your feet in it for a while. Cinnamon can be replaced with any spice, perfume or flower petals. This soak will leave your skin refreshed and fragrant. After this wash your feet with a mild soap. Follow this foot care regime for a few weeks and your skin on your feet will be silky and smooth.
