Scuba Diving news reports that the wreck of the Thistlegorm will be closed to divers from 15th November till 15th December 2007, to allow for conservation measures that will help to preserve this historical and legendary wreck for the future.
The closure is part of the new Saving The Red Sea Wrecks Campaign, launched by HEPCA (Hurghada Environment Protection and Conservation Association).
The Thistlegorm has been voted one of the Top Ten Dives in the World. A British vessel, it was attacked from the air and sunk in 1941 whilst carrying a cargo of war supplies: rifles, motor bikes, train carriages, trucks.
Further wrecks to be targeted are the Rosalie Moller and other Red Sea wrecks under threat.

| One Million Tourists Can’t be Wrong |
| Germans can’t get enough of Egypt’s sun, sand and scenery — and according to Ambassador Bernd Erbel, that’s just the surface of what is shaping up to be an exceptionally valuable relationship |
| Article |
 |
|
Germans tend to be romantic about the Land of the Pharaohs — one million tourists keep the flame alive each year. But their long-term love affair with Egypt is based more on a practical, quid-pro-quo exchange — at least to the extent allowed by a north-south relationship, anyway. A history of solid cultural and economic relations, as well as Germany’s lack of colonial history in the Middle East, accounts for the domesticity and humming contentment. And as European-Egyptian trade relations are on the up, Germany stands poised to gain from a direct line to the heart of the liberalizing Egyptian economy.
But as faith in the Barcelona Conference and Euromed process wanes, attention turns toward the new divisions and alliances that will shape economic and political relations between Europe and the Middle East. With France pushing a proposed Mediterranean Union, Northern European powers like Germany have reason to express reservation at the idea, fearing it would replace Euromed, undermine the EU and exclude Northern Europe, which is generally considered to have less interest in or relevance to Mediterranean affairs. It would also give France a more prominent leadership role.
This comes on the heels of what many view as a dead end to the Euromed process. While it can be considered an economic success, detractors point toward the failure of its “second basket,” or the strategic area dealing with politics, good governance and democracy — the impact of which is inevitably felt in economic health.

Tissue Paper Butterflies |
What you will need:

2. Scissors
3. 12-inch pipe cleaner
4. Thread and String (for hanging it up)
How to make it:
1. Stack the 2 tissue squares, then trim the edges to resemble wings.
2. Fold the pipe cleaner in half over the wings, as shown, bunching the tissue slightly.
3. Twist together the pipe cleaner ends to hold the paper in place. Then curl the pipe cleaner tips around your finger or a pencil to create antennae. Tie one end of the thread to the pipe cleaner body for a hanger. |

Peanuts |
Synonymous with baseball games, circus elephants, cocktail snacks and, of course, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, peanuts are ever popular in the American culture. Raw, roasted, shelled or unshelled in all forms are available throughout the year.
Contrary to what their name implies, peanuts are not true nuts but a member of a family of legumes related to peas, lentils, chickpeas and other beans. Peanuts start growing as a ground flower that due to its heavy weight bends towards the ground and eventually burrows underground where the peanut actually matures. The veined brown shell or pod of the peanut contains two or three peanut kernels. Each oval-shaped kernel or seed is comprised of two off-white lobes that are covered by a brownish-red skin.
Health Benefits
In addition to being every kid's (and many grownup kid's) favorite sandwich filling, peanuts pack a serious nutritional punch and offer a variety of health benefits.
