Bye Bye Red-Sea.com ::: Welcome Spotredsea.com

In 1997 Red-Sea.com made it’s debut. It was then called “The internet traveler's guide to Hurghada”. We have come a long way since then! During the last few years Red-Sea.com has had approximately 12 million hits per year, representing an average of over 40,000 unique visitors per month. It is still ranked number 1 out of more than 82 million results on Yahoo and Google, the 2 most popular global search engines.

Recently the Red-Sea.com search engine owned and operated by Global Promotions was sold to an English company called Spot Local. Spot Local is a privately held New Media company and is well positioned for growth with market positions in several high-growth areas, a seasoned management team with proven track records, and a strong balance sheet.
Spot Local provides a network of destination-specific, search-based portals. Each web property provides local online advertising solutions, interconnecting consumers, merchants and advertisers. The mission is to help consumers globally, to quickly and easily find destination-specific information online, while creating optimal revenue opportunities for advertisers and listings partners.
It is with much reflection that we say goodbye to Red-Sea.com in it’s current format and say hello to the new Search Engine and community portal called www.SpotRedSea.com.
There have been many improvements such as:
  • Searchable database of Real Estate properties
  • Classified Ads section with photo and description
  • Employment section
  • Free non-commercial member web pages
  • Speaker’s corner (Blogs)
  • Calendar of events
  • Searchable dining guide
  • Search the unique online shopping & booking e-mall
We hope that all of our members will love the SpotRedSea.com and all of the new features. The Spot Local team strives to deliver excellence in products, services and results.
---- Official Launch Date for www.spotredsea.com is March 31st 2006 -----

existing Red-Sea.com clients will be moved over to Spot Red Sea. If you have any questions please contact either support@red-sea.com or support@spotredsea.com or call +20 65 3 444 736

EGYPT'S SHPINX TO GET FACELIFT

The Great Sphinx of Giza, one of the most famous monuments of Pharaonic Egypt, is to get a facelift, the Egyptian ministry of culture said.

Restoration work on the noseless creature undertaken by the High Council for Antiquities is to focus on the beast's neck and chest, rendered fragile by the erosion of desert winds.

Egyptian antiquities boss Zahi Hawas said the last restoration work on the half-man half-lion statue was carried out in 1996.

The face of the 73-metre long and 20-metre high Sphinx, believed to have been built 5,000 years ago, is thought to be modelled on the Pharaoh Khepren and wears a royal headdress.

Situated close to the Great Pyramids of Giza just outside Cairo, the Sphinx will remain accessible to the public during the restoration work.

Whats on... Hurghada

Die Deutsche Schule Hurghada
startet zum Schuljahr 2006/2007.

The German School Hurghada
will be starting in Season 2006/2007

Qualification of Students

The German School in Hurghada will be founded primarily for German children with German as their mother tongue. Of course all other nationalities are more than welcome. For these children the participation of KG 1 and KG 2 is obliging to learn the German language. After KG 2 there will be a language test to give access to the Primary School.

For students transferring from another school, there will be a qualification exam to allow proper grade
The German teachers will be sent from the Germany with exams of the ministry of education, the Egyptian Teachers will be found on the local market.

Further move the sponsor will focus on a high motivation of the staff to avoid private lessons after school.
The ground of the area is owned by the sponsor, the Red Sea Hotels. The sight will contain school building and a sports club with a football green.

Parents & Kids

Storytelling

Every child loves books, and every parent loves a child who reads: they’ll do well in school. But books and stores are also a great source of creative fun. When children learn they have the ability to take stories off the page, they feel empowered to let their own amazing ideas take over. Children of almost any age have the ability to compose their own tales, they just need some encouragement from you.

For ages 3-6

  • Listen and learn. Start by telling your preschooler stories. Anything that comes to mind: a personal story inspired by a book or a tale of your own childhood.
  • Little tales. As you’re reading books, suggest to your child that she tell you what the turtle did the next day, or what she thinks happens after the books ends

For ages 6-9

  • Imagine a story. Give your child a character, object and place and have them create a story. You can also get your child to write their story down or make illustrations afterwards

For ages 9-11

  • Play with stories. Your child’s bound to have a favorite book or two, so have them take that story off the page. Have them create a costume for their favorite character, host a theme party or just have a dinner with food inspired by the book

Old-Fashioned Beef Stew

This hearty homemade stew, stocked with potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, beef chuck and beef broth, is the ultimate comfort food and sure to infuse your kitchen with mouthwatering aromas.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cubed
  • 12 small boiling onions
  • 6 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 6 carrots, sliced
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 3 (10.5 ounce) cans beef broth
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cold water

Cooking Instructions

1. In a large pot heat oil over medium high heat. In a resealable plastic bag mix together the flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add a small handful of meat at a time and shake until well coated; brown in hot oil, about 1 minute per side. Remove the browned meat and continue until all the meat is browned.

2. Lower heat to medium and add onions. Brown onions on both sides, about 3 minutes per side, then remove from pot and set aside. Drain excess fat from pot.

3. To pot add potatoes, carrots, celery, reserved onions, browned meat and broth. Stir all together and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

4. For a thicker broth: 1/2 hour before stew is done, combine 3 tablespoons flour and water in a small bowl and mix well, then slowly stir mixture into stew.
