The Bedouin Moon Hotel is managed by Reef 2000 and lies just north of Dahab's center in a stunning location where the Sinai Mountains almost kiss the sea. You can watch the lazy, wind-ruffled waves lap the shore from any of its sea-view rooms or from the front terrace, where breakfast (lunch and dinner too if you want) are served.
On a clear day, and, frankly in this part of the world, it's seldom anything but, you can see Saudi Arabia just across the water. All the rooms are en-suite, most with air conditioning and unrivalled sea views across the Gulf of Aqaba. A modest three star hotel it is relaxed, comfortable and boasts a stunning Pool and gardens, where you can relax, have a drink and enjoy the best views in Dahab. There is free internet access and wireless connection.
The restaurant and pool bar offer a mouth watering menu combining the best of international and Middle Eastern fare. The weekly pool barbeque is legendary and we also highly recommend a traditional Bedouin dinner in the mountains cooked on an open fire under a blanket of desert stars.Above all, the Bedouin Moon maintains a friendly and familiar atmosphere with an ever increasing number of happy guests arriving and departing daily.
The vast majority of our diving clients prefer to stay here. The dive club is on site, the pool is second to none and the foods great. What more could you want?
The hotel is only 2km from the hustle and bustle of the bay area of Dahab, a short walk or even shorter taxi ride away; in the bay you will find all manner of shopping, bars and restaurants or just soak in the atmosphere and stroll along the promenade lined with beach cafes and colorful gift shops. If you look around you can find some great Bedouin handcrafts at reasonable prices.
Activities and excursions in and around Dahab include boat and camel safaris, quad bike riding, windsurfing, wakeboarding and various other water sports are available at the lagoon. Excursions include trips to St Catherine’s monastery where you can see the burning bush and you can climb Mount Moses and watch the inspirational sunrise over the Sinai Mountains from the summit.
Yoga classes are held daily at the Hotel by Barbara Gordon in our very chilled out purpose built yoga room which sits at the base of the mountain that is conveniently the amazing backdrop to the hotel.
Bedouin culture is still very much in evidence in Dahab. Here you walk side by side with the local Mozana tribe. The men white robed, the women swathed in black and the children, multicolored and mischievous, are always ready to strike up a deal for a bracelet or two. Camels are in abundance and morning rush hour to the Blue Hole can be quite a spectacle. Dahab’s charm revolves around this blend of local and western cultures and has a way of making everyone feel at home.
Just before leaving us, one of our guests, recently put her Dahab holiday into words and we have to graciously admit, she couldn’t have painted a better or truer picture saying “for the first time in years, my head is empty, and my heart is full”. She has already booked her next holiday!
